Umbwe Route Kilimanjaro Climb

DAY ONE: Day 1: Moshi / Arusha – Umbwe Gate – Umbwe Cave Camp
Drive to Umbwe Gate and begin your steep forest ascent to Umbwe Cave Camp, surrounded by dense mountain vegetation.
DAY TWO: Day 2: Umbwe Cave Camp – Barranco Camp
Continue climbing through dramatic ridges and forested terrain before reaching the scenic Barranco Camp.
DAY THREE: Day 3: Barranco Camp – Karanga Camp
Climb the famous Barranco Wall and continue through rugged alpine landscapes to Karanga Camp.
DAY FOUR: Day 4: Karanga Camp – Barafu Camp
Ascend to Barafu Camp, your summit base, and rest early ahead of your overnight climb to the top.
DAY FIVE: Day 5: Barafu Camp – Uhuru Peak – Mweka Camp
Push for the summit in the early hours and reach Uhuru Peak (5,895m) at sunrise before descending to Mweka Camp.
DAY SIX: Day 6: Mweka Camp – Mweka Gate – Moshi / Arusha
Descend through the rainforest to Mweka Gate, receive your summit certificate, and transfer back to town.
